  3. Literacy Topic for September 13, 2011:

Explain why earnings for the same job may vary by the job location.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Earnings for the same job may vary by the job location because of the amount of business that area gets. For example, working at a job on a busy street may receive more business than one in a secluded area. Or an area where the fortunate lives versus an area where the less fortunate lives.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Job earnings may differ depending on location because the cost of living varies depending on what state or area you live in. If your area has a low cost of living, then chances are you won't make the same salary as someone who lives in a state where the cost of living is expensive (like Connecticut).

    ReplyDelete
  6. Earnings for the same job may vary by the job location because different states have different cost of living than others.

    ReplyDelete
  7. it depends on the demande from that location you may be working at the hospital in teax's and making $84,000 a year and when you moved to new haven , ct you be making about $103,00 a year its because the tax's and etc . and the demande for your perfession at a location

    ReplyDelete
  8. Job earnings vary based on location due to the economic stadings of each location. If you work as an assembly line worker for Coca-Cola in a location that is in the prosperity stage of the buissness cycle, then you will make more than if you worked the same job, hours, etc in a location in the depression stage of the buissness cycle

    ReplyDelete
  9. Job earnings vary based on location due to the economic stadings of each location. If you work as an assembly line worker for Coca-Cola in a location that is in the prosperity stage of the buissness cycle, then you will make more than if you worked the same job, hours, etc in a location in the depression stage of the buissness cycle. Also, due to the tax rate in the location you work, you may earn less than in a less heavily taxed area. (Example, North Carolina has a high state tax [7.02%] as well as a county tax [2.01%], both in which barrage and seiphers your paycheck, as oppossed to Connecticut's single state tax [6.25%])

    ReplyDelete
  10. because when you move to a different city or state your job could be making more salary than your original salary at your old job. And also the taxes made a huge difference.

    ReplyDelete
  11. because depending on the location, if it is in a state with a big number of workers, they will get a certin amount of money, and if it is in a nother state, with fewer workers, then that state with the lesser workers would get more pay. also depending on if it is a big or a small state.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Earnings for the same job may vary the job location and how much business the job gets.Or that area might not make as much money as other locatins does.So the salary for jobs are different in other areas.

Explain the difference between a job and a career.

    ReplyDelete
  14. A job is usually an hourly wage occupation that one would take during an intermission period through their life. For example, if you need a quick way to make a steady amount of money to, lets say, pay off college, you would take a job. A career is a job that one usually takes for a while, mostly for the rest of their life, or at least until they retire. Careers are usually things that you enjoy to do, rather than the "job" that you do because you must.

    ReplyDelete
  15. A career is an area of work that an individual chose to focus on. A job is work that you build up over time based on performance or past experience.

    ReplyDelete
  16. A career is basically a chosen pursuit, a profession or occupation, while a job is just something you do to get paid.

    ReplyDelete
  17. A job can be any menial work that provides a paycheck, such as working at a fast food resturaunt or as a cashier in a retail store. However, a career is a something someone has a passion for, and most likely majored in when they attended college. For example, a Physician or Graphic Designer are two careers.

    ReplyDelete
  18. A career is what you want to pursue in life and a job is what you are going at the moment to recieve income.

    ReplyDelete
  19. A job is when your only objective is just to pay bills or save money.A career is when you have a passion for it and you love what your doing, and thta you dont really care how much money your making.

    ReplyDelete
  20. like a job is for
    college something thats temporary
a career is after college something to do for the rest of your life.

    ReplyDelete
  21. a job can be somthing small and irelivent, short lived, somthing you didn't prepare for. acarrer however is a job you have taken education, and alot of training for, and it's usally long lived, as in that's what you'll be untill you retire.so ofours it's somthing your going to live on, so it should bring a certin amount of money, enogh to at least make a living out of.

    ReplyDelete
  25. i learned that minimum wage is the least amount of money a person could get paid per hour by law. people who work for salaries are usually self directed, unlike those that receive set salaries; the money that they receive is a certain amount the can go up depending on how long you've worked at that place, like teachers. teachers that have been teaching for a while get to have a lot of days off (some pass more then 100 days)and don't get money pulled out of their check as long as they were sick, unlike a new teacher. that people that start a franchise like McDonald store must buy all their products from McDonald supply, and attend a certain school to learn the food's (sandwiches) recipes. that if you are going to start a business, you should hire someone smarter then you to take care of your money, but that some one you must know for they just might steel from you while your not aware, that person you are hiring just might not pay your taxes when he was suppose to, which would result with you being in jail. that you must sign your own checks no matter what for the same reasons.
